NMQA Guest Speaker

Laura Wasilowski was the guest speaker today at NMQA (New Mexico Quilters

Association). Below are her beautiful colorful quilts, handyed fabric and perle cotton, patterns and books that she brought to sell.

The slide show presentation was called "Art Quilts: The Musical".

 

Yes, Laura did actually sing and her songs were all well known tunes that she wrote hilarious lyrics to tell her story in song. She was fabulous!



NMQA's Balloon Quilt

Afton Warrick (holding her son) designed the 2012 Balloon Quilt for NMQA. They sell tickets for a chance to win this quilt and the winner is chosen on the last day of the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which is held every October in Balloon Fiesta Park, starting the first weekend in October.

I went to NMQA (New Mexico Quilters Association) today as a guest. I was a member of NMQA several years ago. These are the quilts from the show and tell that I took photos of.

 The following photos here were from a Special Interest Group, which is an Art Quilt Group. They had a challenge to make a small quilt with fruit being the theme~
